  • Is there any service window for inquiries about authentication of artifacts?
    • Yes. The National Palace Museum has an inquiry service about artifacts. Because authentication of artifacts is not the museum's legal business, we only offer an academic inquiry service. The museum's researchers will provide opinions related to academic studies. No fee will be charged and no document will be certified.   • Is there any service window for inquiries about authentication of paintings and calligraphies?
    • Yes. To serve the public, 2:00-4:00p.m.every Tuesday (there's no need to make an appointment in advance, but the service stops during holidays) is open to the public for arranging inquiries, which is free of charge. We only use a verbal approach to offer relevant information. Therefore, if you need this service, please contact the Information Desk of the Administration Building within the period mentioned above. Because the museum is not responsible for authenticating artifacts, any proof or document will not be certified. Also, people are not allowed to use provided information for profit.

    • Yes. The National Palace Museum has a service for inquiries about books and documents. Because authentication of cultural or historical artifacts is not the museum's legal business, what the museum would like to do is to offer an academic inquiry service. The museum's researchers will provide opinions related to academic studies. No fee will be charged and no document will be certified.   • Do the National Palace Museum accept donation of cultural or historical artifacts or have any wish to purchase them?
    • About the regulation and procedure of artifacts purchased by or donations accepted by the museum, please refer to "The National Palace Museum of Collections Project" and "The National Palace Museum Regulations for Acquisition." If people would like to donate or sell their artifacts, they should please send a mail attached with clear pictures of artifacts and explanation to the museum. The museum will make further consideration and contact.
  • How many collections are there in the National Palace Museum?
    • Please refer to "Administration/ About the NPM/ Objects & Management/ Categories in the Collection" in the official website. If artifacts have been newly collected, the museum will update information at any time.
