Notice passed in the 24^th Museum Affairs Meeting on Dec. 13, 2012
Notice is effective Dec. 22, 2012

1. The following visitors notice has been put in place by the National Palace Museum (NPM) to preserve and maintain the valued artifacts and visiting quality inside the Main Building exhibition halls.
2. Groups of 10 or above are required to purchase group tickets for the exhibitions. All members of the group are also required to rent an audio touring system (audio headset) and be equipped prior to entering. As museum crowd control is in place, visitors are recommended to book the audio touring systems in advance.
3. Visitors are suggested to adjust their visiting routes when running into crowded areas.
4. At times of natural disasters (such as typhoons and earthquakes) resulting in subsequent announcement of cancelled workday(s), the Museum will also be closed; when deemed necessary, the Museum will close sections of areas during exhibition changes, renovation, construction, or major incidents.
5. Visitors are required to abide by the regulations set forth in this notice, and follow the instructions given by the Museum staff. Any violation of the following rules will result in warnings, stopping of behavior/act, denial of admission, and/or dismissal from the museum.
   (i) Dangerous items, food, liquid, bottles, and cans are strictly prohibited inside the exhibition halls.
   (ii) Guided tours without the audio touring system are strictly prohibited (unless authorized otherwise) to maintain the peace within the exhibition halls.
   (iii) Picture-taking and video-shooting are prohibited inside the exhibition halls (unless authorized otherwise). Visitors are suggested to leave their cameras and filming equipment inside their personal bags or in the museum checkroom.
   (iv) Visitors should keep their voices low and not talk loudly or cause nuisance to other visitors.
   (v) Visitors should not run, play, eat and drink, smoke, lie on seats, sit on the floor, take off their shoes, and littering.
   (vi) Pets (except guide dogs), oversized items, and toys are prohibited inside the exhibition halls.
   (vii) Visitors are asked to dress appropriately when entering into the Museum.
   (viii) Backpacks, travel bags, and luggage (portable objects larger than A4 paper) must be deposited at the museum checkroom. The NPM is required to check the contents of these items when necessary.
   (ix) Any other persons considered by the Museum to pose threats to artifact safety or order inside the museum are prohibited from entering the exhibition halls.
6. This visitors notice was passed by the Museum Affairs Meeting and has received the approval from the Director. The same procedure will apply for subsequent amendments.

1. Photography equipments, coats and luggages may be deposited at the checkroom (please keep all valuables with you.)
2. Please take a number when depositing your belongings and return it upon reclaiming them.  Only one number will be given to a group; visitors in the same group should reclaim their belongings together.
3. Wheelchairs and baby strollers are available and free of charge.
4. Please reclaim your belongings on the same day before 5:00pm. Items which are not claimed within a month will be handed over to the police station in Shih-lin.

To increase the enjoyment of Chinese art and culture for school members and to allow enjoyment while learning and gaining personal knowledge, all students and instructors at government-registered public and private primary schools (or above) may conduct learning-outside-of-school trips at the Museum (including instructors pursuing education working).

Services:

1. Free visits to the exhibitions are available daily in hourly sessions from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The number of individuals for admission is limited to no more than 150 for each session.
2. Audio Tour: School groups of 150 may apply for an audio tour by advanced booking. Groups of more than 150 should arrange for two admission sessions.
3. Selected artworks tour: School groups of 120 or less should apply beforehand.
4. Free visit to the Zhishan Garden: Open Tuesday to Sunday. Please present your approval notice from the Museum when entering the Garden. School graduation groups are welcome to coordinate a visit to the Zhishan Garden.

Please note:

1. The Museum offers explanatory materials on its art online for students; students are welcome to download them first before visiting.
2. Free admission is available to at most 10 parents who are accompanying a tour to maintain order of the group.
3. Please make your tour booking two weeks prior to the visit. Post-tour applications will not be accepted.
4. During school group visits, teachers must accompany the group at all times to ensure the safety and order among students.
5. To preserve the quality of NPM collections and to enhance your viewing pleasure, all forms of photography and filming inside the exhibition areas are prohibited as of June 1st, 2005. Thank you for your cooperation.
6. When visiting the Zhishan Garden, teachers shall be responsible for the safety of students and must prevent students from feeding the fish.
7. The Museum reserves the right to refuse admission on its discretion to those wearing improper attire, bringing in pets, or taking toys into the Museum.
8. Rucksacks and carry-bags larger than A4 size will not be permitted within the Museum. Thank you for your cooperation.
9. When visiting the Museum, please present your written approval from the Museum for visiting the galleries and Zhishan Garden.
