1972

  • Special exhibitions of archival documents by and of Tseng Kuo-Fan and Qing porcelains were held.

1973

  • The Museum participated in the "China Exhibition" in Seoul, Korea.
  • A special exhibition of the Wu school painting was held, and a catalogue was simultaneously published.
  • The "Complete Collection of Calligraphic Works in the National Palace Museum" was published.

1975

  • A special exhibition of the works of the Four Masters of Yuan Painting was held, and a catalogue was simultaneously published.

1976

  • A special exhibition of the motif of dragon in Chinese art was held.
  • The "Research Monographs" series began publication.

1977

  • Special exhibitions of Ming Dynasty Chenghua porcelains and late Ming paintings of the transformative style were held.

1978

  • A special exhibition of horse paintings was held, and a catalogue was simultaneously published.

1979

  • A special exhibition of Qing's painted enamel wares was held.

1980

  • A special exhibition of Ming Dynasty Xuande porcelains was held, and a catalogue was simultaneously published.

1981

  • Special exhibitions of lacquer wares through the ages and Qing Dynasty ceramic wares of monochrome glaze were held, and catalogues were simultaneously published.
