The National Palace Museum Wins Multiple Awards at the 2013 WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival

This year, the National Palace Museum (NPM) participated in the 46th annual international film festival in Houston. Numerous entrees submitted by the NPM have received critical acclaim, winning six major awards. The film festival award ceremony this year took place on Apr. 20 at the Westchase Marriott Hotel in Houston, U.S.A. On behalf of the NPM and accompanied by his wife, Director Hsia Chi-Chang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston accepted the awards. Both the “A trip to the Present: APP Micro Movie” and “Adventures in NPM 2: Lost in the Art of Landscape Painting” received the highest honor (platinum award), with “Along the River During the Qingming Festival” and “Adventures in NPM” winning gold. “Journeying from Past to Present: A Life of Refined Tastes” won bronze and “Colossal yet Playful” received a special jury award. The NPM fully shined in this year’s WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, with six of its films winning the award from a field of 4,500. It displays the digital cultural and creative soft power of Taiwan who has again received the recognition from the rest of the world.
