Release date:2013/10/31
882 volunteers presently trained

In addition to executing the hardware projects of the National Palace Museum (NPM) Southern Branch, the NPM has also engaged in vigorous volunteer training in preparation of the Southern Branch Museum’s grand opening. The NPM Phase V volunteer training has drawn a total of 178 volunteers, and the completion ceremony training will take place on Nov. 2 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chiayi County New School (Human Resources Development Center). The NPM indicated that a total of 882 volunteers have been trained upon the closing of the Phase V training. Each training program was held by an outstanding teaching team, producing excellent volunteer qualities. The NPM fully believes that upon the opening of the Southern Branch Museum, the volunteers will win the title as the best servicing team.

The NPM further explained that the NPM Southern Branch Phase V volunteer training program centered on the topics of “Chiayi culture and history,” “Asian ceramics,” and the “arts and culture in Japan.” The training began on Mar. 23 of this year and the training hours totalled 18. The goal was to use the training programs to provide art enthusiasts a platform to exchange ideas and to combine the strength of local communities to push for the development of the Southern Branch.

The NPM also indicated that for the Phase V closing ceremony, Southern Branch Section Chief Fang Lun-Lian will specially be invited to give a NPM Southern Branch construction progress briefing. The NPM welcomes those who are interested to come out and participate the event. In additional, the NPM announced that the Southern Branch Phase VI training would soon begin and cordially invited art aficionados and those with a passion to serve to join the NPM’s best servicing team.
