The symposium of "A meeting between the heroes and beauties--a discussion about the aesthetics of the film: Red Cliff"

The symposium of "A meeting between the heroes and beauties--a discussion about the aesthetics of the film: Red Cliff" will be held on July 23 (Thr.) in the NPM, during which Chin-tien Yeh, the well-known film aesthetics master and Hui-liang Chu, the vice head of the education advocacy department will be having a discussion.

"Red Cliff" has been a popular historical legend among Chinese people. This legendary war has been interpreted in different ways through media such as literature, paintings, films, TV programs, and even computer games and comics. The film "Red Cliff" has been highly welcome by domestic and oversea audience. Both the elegant manner of Takeshi Kaneshiro, who plays Zhuge Liang with the feather fan and the graceful and restrained manner of Chi-ling Lin as Xiao Qiao who always lowers her head half frowned her eyebrows are from the idea of Chin-tien Yeh. The classical aesthetics conveyed by the film and the spectacular war scenes are very impressive for the audience. The NPM is currently presenting the exhibition of "Rolling up a thousand heaps of snow--the cultural heritage of Red Cliff" as a response to the film to provide a different aesthetics concept between the past and present.

Awarded the Best Art Direction in Oscar for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2001, Mr. Chin-tien Yeh has been connected to Chinese film aesthetics. Welcome to this meeting between the heroes and beauties, in which you will have a clear understanding of the Three Countries and Red Cliff interpreted by Mr. Yeh.

"A meeting between the heroes and beauties--a discussion about the aesthetics of the film: Red Cliff" will be held between 2-3:30pm, July 23 in the Multi-media Screening Room on B1. Free entry. Please register on the NPM website.
