NPM Southern Branch—A Museum of Asian Art and Culture

Throughout its history, the various areas of Asia have yielded diverse cultural phenomena through a process of absorption and fusion created by such factors as trade, religion, official contact, and even warfare. The Southern Branch of the NPM, a museum for the arts and cultures of Asia, aims to showcase this Asian diversity through creative and high-tech exhibits, the unique architectural design, a themed garden, and various activities drawing upon elements in Taiwanese and surrounding Asian societies. The Southern Branch and its 70-hectacre museum park are scheduled for completion in 2010.
