Small Celadon Bowl
Porcelain, Lung-ch'uan Ware
Southern Sung, 12th-13th c.
Height: 5.1 cm, mouth diameter:
13.1 cm, base diameter: 2.9 cm
This small bowl has a wide mouth
tapering down to a narrow base. The center is slightly concave with a convex shape in the
middle. The grey-white body is exposed around and inside the dark foot rim. The color of
the body is suggested by the thin glaze around the mouth, while the glaze inside pooled to
a darker green color. The surface is covered with light brown crackle that runs vertically
for the most part. Fine crackle is found in between. |
