Travel into the Exciting Night with NPM! Celebrating Deepawali & Unveiling NPM Puzzle Challenge

This October, join the National Palace Museum's Northern Branch on Saturday, October 7th as we collaborate with India Taipei Association to host the "Indian Festival of Light 2017". The festival will feature stalls showcasing Indian culture, as well as performances of Indian folk and classical dance and music. We will also be introducing our new event "2017 Nuit Blanche at NPM", unveiling new challenges such as "NPM Puzzle Challenge" and "NPM Night Tour". The NPM would like to welcome the public to join us in celebrating these two events.

On October 19th, the magnificent holiday of Deepawali, the Festival of Light, will be celebrated by Indian communities around the world. Though it is not on the day of the actual holiday, NPM and India Taipei Association are proud to present the "Indian Festival of Light 2017" on October 7th to celebrate the holiday and to promote the cherished relationship between Taiwan and India. In the afternoon hours of 3pm to 7pm, the outdoor plaza, outside of the first floor of the museum will feature a marketplace having stalls set up Indian community and Indian restaurants. These stalls will have Indian arts, clothes, food and handicraft. The visitors can have experience of Heena and Saree tying. There will also be dazzling performances of Indian dance and music that will allow audiences to catch a glimpse of the beauty of Indian culture as they walk through the marketplace. Immediately following, visitors can make their way to the WenHuiTang Auditorium to enjoy the feature performance, "Light: An Ensemble of Indian Classical Dance and Music." This performance has been specially designed on theme of light to celebrate Deepawali. The performance will be held from 7 to 9 pm and will  showcase a range of Indian classical dances and music.Though the performance is free of charge, audience members may register ahead of time on the museum's official website from September 22nd to 28th. However, only 100 seats will be available through this online platform. Same-day on-site registration will have 50 seats open for the public.

NPM is also unveiling a new event called "2017 Nuit Blanche Taipei". On the same day, Saturday, October 7th, visitors will also be able to experience interesting and mysterious activities within the museum. Firstly, we will be continuing the summer vacation event "The Unbelievable Mystery of NPM". 500 visitors will be welcome to challenge the puzzle at 6pm. We hope that it can be an exhilarating experience for all of the participants. At 9PM, we will be hosting our "NPM Night Tour" activity, gathering a work squad to assist our police dogs in searching for explosives. Visitors can transform into detectives and follow our own security forces on this exciting nighttime adventure. Upon finishing the activity, participants will be eligible to take part in our raffle prize event.
