Location Hours
Exhibition I (Main Building) Open daily from 08:30 to 18:30 all year round.
Extension of opening hours at night: 18:30 - 21:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.
(English guided tours)
Library Located between the 2nd to 4th floors of the Library Building. Open to the public daily from 9:00 to 17:00 except on Sundays and national holidays.
Chang Dai-ch'ien Memorial Residence Open Tuesday to Sunday; closed on Mondays, Apr. 2 (day of Chang Dai-ch'ien's passing), and all other national holidays.
Please visit the National Palace Museum (NPM) website and complete the online application form 7 days in advance to book your visit.
Please revisit the NPM website three days prior to the actual visit to ensure that your application has been approved (Guided tours are provided only in Chinese).

Zhide Garden Admission is free.
Children's Gallery Open daily from 08:30 to 18:30.
Extended evening hours: Every Fridays and Saturdays from 18:30 to 21:00.
Closed every Monday after 13:00.
Opened to children ages 5-12 (must be accompanied by adults)
Admission Price: Free.

* "Taipei Fun Pass | Unlimited Version"- Please purchase Taipei Fun Pass from the website (funpass.travel.taipei).
* Purchase of entry ticket entitles visitor to visit all current exhibitions at Exhibition I (Main Building) on the day of purchase.
* There are six free entrance days for this museum: New Year’s Day (Jan. 1), the Lantern Festival, International Museum Day (May 18), World Tourism Day (Sept. 27), National Day (Oct. 10) and Taiwan Culture Day(Oct. 17).

* From Jan. 1, 2018 to Aug. 31, 2019. The discount rules are as follows:

  • (i) Visitors who have purchased an NPM Northern Branch ticket (of any category) may visit the NPM Southern Branch free of charge within three months by presenting the ticket stub.
  • (ii) Visitors who are Taiwanese citizens and who have purchased a paid NPM Southern Branch ticket may visit the NPM Northern Branch free of charge within three months.
  • (iii) Foreign visitors visiting the NPM Southern Branch and who wish to visit the NPM Northern Branch at a later date may purchase an NPM Northern Branch regular or group ticket at the NPM Southern Branch ticket counter. The visitors may then proceed to visit the NPM Southern Branch by using the said ticket and visit the NPM Northern Branch free of charge within three months by presenting the ticket stub.

Admission Ticket Ticket-Return Information

  1. Any unused, undamaged admission ticket may be returned for a full refund (the refund will be issued in the method by which the ticket was purchased) without a processing fee.
  2. Admission ticket with removed admission stub may be returned within 30 min by filling out the ticket-refund application form at the ticket office. A processing fee equivalent to 20% of the price of the admission ticket will be applied.
  3. No refund will be issued if admission stub has been removed for more than 30 min.
  4. No replacement nor ticket returns will be given to lost, damaged, burned, and unrecognizable admission tickets as well as those with removed admission stubs.
