With the expulsion of Puyi from the Forbidden City in the previous year, the government formed the Committee for the Disposition of Qing's Imperial Possessions and took a comprehensive inventory check of the articles in the Imperial Palace. On the 10th of October, the Palace Museum was inaugurated, and public exhibitions were launched.
1928
China was united after the victory of the Northern Expedition, and the Nationalist Government regained control of the Palace Museum. Yi Pei-Ji was appointed Director of the Museum in the following year.
