Cultural Relics of the Mongols in the National Palace Museum Collection is a book edited and published by the National Palace Museum (NPM). The new Mongolian language in the book has been translated by the Ulaanbaatar Trade and Economic Representative Office in Taipei, whereas the old Mongolian language has been translated by the Mongolian Affairs Office of the Mongolian & Tibetan Affairs Commission. The book included the following cultural relics: (1) all paintings of Mongolian emperors and consorts from the Yuan dynasty; (2) drawings and documents recording Mongolian culture, religions, and lifestyle in the Yuan dynasty; (3) important ancient books and records documenting the geography and history of the Mongols in the Yuan dynasty; and (4) treasured collections of the Yuan dynasty royal family. The book is divided into four chapters, in which respective artifacts are presented. The chapters are "Images of Emperors and Consorts" (Chapter 1), "Culture and Lifestyle" (Chapter 2), "Geography and History" (Chapter 3), and "Collection of the Royal Family" (Chapter 4). "Images of Emperors and Consorts" features the NPM's collection of eight Yuan dynasty emperor portraits and 15 consort portraits. "Culture and Lifestyle" introduces 12 artifacts illustrating Yuan dynasty poetry and eating habits as well as how the Mongolian royal family retained their nomadic lifestyle (e.g., horse-riding and hunting) even after entering the Central Plains. "Geography and History" presents historical documents such as The Secret History of the Mongols, Yuan Dynastic Statutes of Government, History of Yuan, The Chronicles of Sagang Sechen, Short Biographies of Eminent Officials of the Yuan Dynasty, and Complete Gazetteer of the Yuan. "Collection of the Royal Family" shows important artifact collections of the Yuan dynasty royal family such as "Early Snow on the River" (by Jhao Gan, Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period), "Poem on the Hall of Pines and Wind," (by Huang Tingjian, Song dynasty), "Chimonanthus and Birds" (by Emperor Huizong, Song dynasty), "Herd of Deer in an Autumnal Grove" (anonymous, Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period), and "Herd of Deer in a Maple Grove" (anonymous, Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period).
