A Selection of Chinese Antique Maps in the National Palace Museum introduces mostly maps painted (and in the collection of the Grand Secretariat Repositories) during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Said maps were painted and bound in various ways to produce maps in scrolls, albums, silk scrolls, colors, ink prints as well as those on paper and by ink. The book also contains drawings and illustrations attached to documents, rare books, local records, and books created during the Qing dynasty.

A Selection of Chinese Antique Maps in the National Palace Museum carefully selects 120 ancient maps in the collection of the National Palace Museum and divides them into seven categories. Additional information such as the basic information of, brief introduction to, research literature related to, and color prints of the maps as well as the Detailed List of Antique Maps in the National Palace Museum are also included. This book is divided into two volumes and presents posters and ancient maps in varying formats.
